Ducks, Grapes, & Epic Videos

Okay, this is how it all started.

MOV told a joke on her blog that made me giggle.  Here, I'll let her tell it:

While the post did make me giggle quite a bit, it also left me with this unsavory taste in my mouth.  I had a strong, immediate urge to actually witness a duck eating grapes.  I mean, wouldn't it be difficult for a duck to eat a grape?  Hard, even for a walking* and talking duck who frequents delis?
*Was the duck in your imagination wearing shoes?  Mine was.  And a raincoat, I think.

And so, I YouTubed it and found this video:

It was pretty much exactly what I expected, but I giggled anyway.  It had quenched my thirst.

But before I closed the browser, I noticed another video called "Don't Eat Those Grapes!" by a little kid who goes by the name "DuckODuckProductions*".

*I would have gone with "DuckODuck Pro-Duck-tions," but hey, to each his own, right?

The video is the craziest, most wonderful video I have seen in a while.  I think you're really going to love it*:

*Warning!  If you are frightened by realistic lightning, you might not want to watch.

Intense, right?

That kid is my favorite.

You're welcome, internet, for unearthing this gem.

  1. I'm killing time this morning, because our roads are terrible, so I was happy to see you had done a post. Both videos are great. Of course I loved the poor little ducks trying to eat grapes, and I adore that kid!

My nephew makes videos, which always surprises me, because he's only 12. How do they know how to do all those special effects and editing? I can only just barely post a Kodi video on Youtube with no editing whatsoever. Hmmm, maybe if I do end up doing a vlog, I'll get my nephew to help me! Never thought of that...thanks Youngman :)

    1. That's really cool that your nephew does that.

The coolest thing about YouTube and social media in general is the fact that it provides a forum for people -- especially young people -- to pick up a camera and just fucking go with it.

  2. I'll bet that kid had fun making that video. When we first got our cameras a few years ago, we made a lot of videos like that. Then we tired of it and watched TV for the next few years.

    1. Having fun is all that matters with this kind of stuff, right?

Or it used to be, at least...

  3. HA ha ha ha. The duck video was pretty funny. I could almost imagine the duck saying "God damn it, I almost got that one to break!" after it rolled away.

  4. That kid's already better than M. Night Shyamalan. That's not saying much, though.

My buddy's nephew makes videos like this, and I'm amazed at the creativity they display. What they lack in acting ability and camera skill they more than make up for with zany antics and ridiculous plot twists. What's not to love?

    1. Way to make it an Indian thing.

      Just kidding :)

  5. So, wait. The grapes were actually balled up tabs of acid?

But, I love finding hidden gems like these on YouTube. My roommates and I used to find videos with like 2 views and sing praises to the video via comments. Got a couple interesting reactions from the YouTubers.

Also, I found that video of ducks eating grapes absolutely hilarious. Also, that kid's got some pretty good editting skills.

  6. That kid is pretty good!
The duck video had me cracking up. I love that the duck who finally masters the art looks around afterwards like "oh yeah, bring it on"

  7. Boy's got some video editing skills! I'm impressed! (Except I don't like the stretched out face thing. That actually legit scared me. The lightning, on the other hand, I was a rock star about.)

  8. I loved the joke! I've never been a fan of watching videos on the internet. It's weird. I love funny pictures, but not so much videos. That being said, both of those were cute.

  9. Wow, I loved the reflection of the guy in the mirror, how it was different than the main guy. Very clever. Great find, YB!

  12. I hope when that kid is older, his parents unearth it to show it to his Prom date. That was AWESOME!!!

  13. I was afraid you were going to show the video of that joke. That drove us completely nuts one day when the kids found it.
